Alma Pennington

Alma B. Pennington, 92, of Mathews, VA passed away peacefully at her daughters home in Poquoson, VA on Saturday, September 29, 2018 surrounded by her family. Alma was a native of Mathews County. She spent many years in Southern California working as a cosmetologist owning and operating beauty salons and raising her children before returning to Mathews. She had a great love for gardening, the water and her dog “Baby”. But her greatest love was her children.

Alma is preceded in death by her parents Granville and Lottie Ashberry and her brother Bud Ashberry. She is survived by her daughters, Jane Gibson (Jack), Ann Agnew, and Lynn Pennington (Frank); son Danny Pennington (Val); grandchildren, Dawn, Justin and Michael; and several great-grandchildren. A special thank you to her nurse Ashley, Poquoson Volunteer Rescue Squad and the hospice team, Dannelle, Heather and Shanelle.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11:00 am at Windsor Garden Cemetery, Dutton, VA. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, VA is assisting the family with the arrangements.
