Amanda Croxton

October 24, 1918 — May 15, 2012

Amanda Hayes Croxton, of Lancaster, formerly of Middlesex, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening May 15, 2012. Born at Locust Hill in Middlesex on October, 24, 1918, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William “Arthur” Hayes and Robert “Bob” Croxton and grandchildren, Amy Brent Dawson and Christopher Lee Dawson. She is survived by her daughter Lois Hayes Dawson (Larry) of Lancaster County, her son Richard N. Taylor of Richmond, step-son R. Brown Croxton of Jamaica, a grandson, J. Burke Dawson of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Brandy Allison Styron who was like her own granddaughter. She is also survived by two special cousins Virginia Miller Johnston and Mildred Miller Walker and a host of very dear nieces and nephews whom she cherished. She was a homemaker, loved life and deeply loved her family and was happiest when surrounded by them. She devoted her entire life to caring for and loving her family. Everyone fondly called her “Grandma”. The family would like to thank her special caregivers; Tina Lyons, Edie Marshall, Lauren Young, Bonnie Ainsworth, Amy Smither and Stacy Roff. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 19th at Harmony Grove Baptist Church, Topping. Interment Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10am Saturday until service time at the church. Arrangements by Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda.
