Amanda Marsh Spiller

Amanda Marsh Spiller (Mandy) of Deltaville, Virginia, passed away, Monday, December 23, 2024, peacefully, after a short battle with lung cancer. She was 76 years old. Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Amanda spent her childhood years in Oklahoma, Texas, France and California. Her father, Jean W. McLaughlin was in the United States Air Force and her mother Anne T. McLaughlin, helped raise the family supporting Jeans’ miliary career and eventually getting into the insurance business.

Amanda moved to Richmond, Virginia in the early 1970’s entering the work force as a bookkeeper/accounting support for various companies. She continued this profession until moving to Deltaville, Virginia in the late 1980’s, going to work as Assistant Service Manager for Norton’s Yacht Sales, Service Department, retiring from there in 2014.

Amanda is remembered by her family and friends as a loving and caring wife, mother and pet advocate, donating much of her time in her retirement years to the Middlesex Pet Friends for Life animal shelter. In addition, she was an avid gardener.

Amanda is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, John P. Tomillon; one son, Thomas “Craig” Spiller; one brother, Jeff McLaughlin and partner Kobe Zhang; niece, Marisa McLaughlin Anderson and husband Sam Anderson; John’s children, Michael Tomillon, Susanne Tomillon, and David “Skip” Tomillon; numerous other relatives, in-laws, friends and beloved pets, Hannah and Teddy.

In accordance with Amanda’s wishes, no services will be held. Memorial donations can be made to Middlesex Pet Friends for Life, P.O. Box 145, Saluda, VA 23149 or The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
