Andrew Smith

Andrew Carter Smith, age 90, of Water View died Friday, July 19, 2013.  He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran, a retiree of the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station and a retired Class A building contractor.  He and his wife Mattie were very instrumental in establishing the Water View Volunteer Fire Department. Carter was predeceased by a son Walter Smith (Edith).  Survived by his wife Mattie Robinson Smith; children, Mary Noirot (Maurice), Tom Smith (Linda); grandchildren, Danny, Beth, Aaron, Jimmy and Eric, eight great grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 27,  in Hermitage Baptist Church, Church View.  In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Water View Volunteer Fire Department,4583 Water View Road, Water View, VA 23180.  Arrangements byBristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda.
