Ann Gabbert

Ann Moody Gabbert, 84, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 after a short illness. She had been a resident of Riverside Convalescent Center in Saluda, Va. since January, 2014 She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Francis Gabbert, her parents, George H. and Blannie C Moody, and 2 brothers, T. Clark Moody (Shirley) and James N. Moody. She is survived by one brother, John S. Moody (Kay), one sister–in-law, Shirley Ann Moody, and several nieces and nephews. Ann graduated from Longwood College with a degree in education and was a teacher in the Henrico Co., VA. school system. After marriage, Ann and Neil lived in several states, but finally settled in Remlik, VA. in their retirement. Ann was a member of Urbanna Baptist Church, where she served as church librarian for several years. She enjoyed her cross-stich and jigsaw puzzles and especially looked forward to her annual couple’s trip to Nags Head, NC with close friends. A memorial service will be held at Urbanna Baptist Church on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Urbanna Baptist Church, P.O. Box 416, Urbanna, VA 23175
