Ann Marguerite Wagner Robusto, 82, of Tappahannock, VA passed away early Wednesday morning at Glen Manor in Tappahannock, June 19, 2013. Ann spent her last few years quietly cared for by Silvio Anthony “Tony” Robusto, her tireless husband of nearly 64 years.
Born September 9, 1930, she lived in Baltimore, Maryland with her family until Tony convinced her parents, Fritz and Ursula, to let them marry in 1949. Ann was preceded in death by her parents: Frederick (Fritz) Joseph and Angela Ursula Walsh Wagner , three brothers: Frederick Joseph (Joe) Wagner, James Robert (Bob) Wagner, John William (Bill) Wagner and son Stephen Anthony Robusto. She is survived by her husband Silvio Anthony (Tony) Robusto and two sons: Michael Joseph Robusto, Dr. James Robert Robusto and four granddaughters, Kelsey, Marcia, Ann, and Valerie
Before becoming a wife and mother, Ann graduated from The Catholic High School, worked at Bell Drug Store and C&P Telephone of Baltimore. Even after having children, she continued to stay busy. She worked at Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, later at St. Michael’s Rectory, and then at Hecht’s Department Store for eleven years.
Ann loved crosswords, quilting, sewing, gardening and researching her family’s genealogy. Most of all, she loved playing with her four granddaughters. She was kind-hearted, quick to laugh, and dedicated to her family. She made those around her better people. While Ann’s loss leaves a hole in our hearts, it is a blessing to have her finally found her way Home.
Ann will be buried with her son’s ashes. Her funeral will be a private memorial for family members. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Riverside-Tappahannock Hospice. Ann’s family wishes to thank so many for their support – to Riverside- Tappahannock Hospice for preparing the family for her passing; to Glen Manor for giving Ann a higher quality of life; to Chaplin Katie Mossman for her comforting prayers and support and to her husband, Tony, who dedicated himself selflessly to the woman he loved.
