Anthony Howard Winkler, 49, of Tappahannock, passed away at his home on August 16, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Anthony was born in Reading, England to Louis Robert & Mary Winkler on February 15, 1969. He married his soulmate, Jennifer Whipple on July 18, 2009 in Northern Essex County, VA. He worked in retail for various companies and had a lifelong love of history, specifically military history. He was involved in Civil War reenacting and collected military and historical memorabilia.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Robert Winkler and Mary Winkler; and recently by his brother-in-law, Harold Donald Whipple. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Winkler; sisters, Claire Winkler and Sarah Winkler; brother, Louis R. Winkler Jr.; niece, Éowyn Fain; nephew, Tristan Fain; and father and mother in-law, H. Dennis & Sharon Whipple.
A funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Morrisdale, PA, with the Rev. Robert Horgas officiating. The family will receive friends at Strange and Weaver Funeral Home from 9:00-10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral mass. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 20th, 2018 at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, 206 N. Church Lane, Tappahannock, VA. Recitation of the Blessed Rosary will be at 7:30p.m. at the funeral home. Donations in memory of Anthony can be made to the Virginia Cancer Institute, Richmond, VA; or Hospice of Virginia, Tappahannock, VA. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel ,Tappahannock and Strange and Weaver Funeral Home, Morrisdale, PA are assisting the family.
