Arthur R. “Doc” Muroff passed away on July 28, 2018. Doc loved to play piano. He practiced dentistry in New York until 1979 when he retired to Port Haywood, Virginia and started playing jazz piano at the Tides Inn, Warner Hall and the Williamsburg Inn. His license plate, DOC88K, identified him around town and his sense of humor was famous. Doc loved to sail and later added flying to his repertoire and flew until age 88. Doc had an extensive model train layout, loved to complete the daily crossword and to read mysteries.
Doc is survived by his beloved Czech mate, Vlasta (Val) Filipi Muroff; his nephew, Mark Filipi of Eagan, Minnesota and family, and his godson Cris Simmons of Williamsburg, VA and family.
A Memorial Service and Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 2nd. At Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, VA. The visitation is from 10-11 am with the service at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites contributions to the Friends of the Mathews Library.
