Augustus Rudolf " Rudy" Shackelford

Augustus Rudolf “Rudy” Shackelford, of Urbanna, Va., passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024.

He is survived by his wife and love of his life of 68 ½ years, Barbara L. Shackelford and his son, and only child, Lewis R. Shackelford (Margie).

Mr. Shackelford was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Rudy loved the water and most of his career was working with boat builders. He and his wife traveled often, but Rudy always said, “I’d rather be home “.   His favorite pastimes were watching westerns on T.V. and meeting with his “Breakfast Buddies” daily, rarely missing a “role call”.

The family would like to thank the neighbors for their friendship and support.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16,2024 at Middlesex Memorial Cemetery in Urbanna.
