Barbara Killian

On the evening of December 5, 2018, Barbara Jeanne Killian, 62, of Topping, Virginia, departed this life at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, Virginia of natural causes related to her recent diagnosis of small cell lung cancer while she was surrounded by her daughters and close family friends. Barbara was born on May 29, 1956 in Jersey City, New Jersey and has been a resident of Middlesex, Virginia for 23 years. She was the faithful partner and caretaker of the late Charles “Charlie” Akers and a dedicated mother.

She is survived by her two daughters, Devon Michelle Killian Blair, 27, (Eric) and Heather Leigh Killian, 25, (Zachary O’Bryan), her grandchildren, Lucas Everett and Charlotte Lee “Charlee” O’Bryan, and a host of friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Audrey Beach Graziano and Harry J. Miller, her partner of 20+ years, Charlie Akers.

An open casket visitation will be held at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel in Saluda, Virginia on Sunday, December 9th from 5-7 pm and a Celebration of Life service will be held at Lower United Methodist Church at 11 am on Monday, December 10, 2018. The family will be visiting with friends and family at a reception in the fellowship hall following the service.
