Barbara Sterling Thompson entered eternal life on Friday, December 13, 2013. She was the widow of Vernon E. Thompson. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Cecil and Elva Gwyn Sterling and her brother, Donald G. Sterling. Barbara was a member of Severn Church, Gloucester, Va.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Diggs and her husband, Dale; grandson, Jason Diggs and wife Rochelle and great-grandsons, Elijah and Tyler.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 16, 2013 from 4-8 pm in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Va. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, December 17th. At 2:00 pm in Haynes Cemetery, Cobbs Creek, Va. Her pastor, Reverend Bill West will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Haynes Cemetery, Inc., P.O. Box 777, Cobbs Creek, Va 23035 and to Severn Church Cemetery, c/o D. Owens, 5711 Mobjack Rd., Gloucester, Va 23061.
