Bernard Thomas

Bernard A. Thomas, Sr., of Hartfield, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014. He was a partner in the former Five Rivers Food Co. in Urbanna. He was predeceased by his parents, G. Baynum Thomas and A. Laura Sutton Thomas; two brothers Edward and Oscar Thomas; four sisters Mary Ashburn, Annie Hatch, Marion Slaughter and CountissThomas. He is survived by his wife, N. Virginia Small Thomas; two sons Bernie Thomas, Jr. of Hartfield and James and his wife Lisa Thomas of Richmond; five grandchildren Chad, Derrick, Monica, Travis and Ryan; one sister Florence Massey of Providence Forge; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 1st in Lower United Methodist Church, Hartfield with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Saluda.
