Betty Fary

Betty MacDonald Fary, of Locust Hill, born October 25, 1928 in Hopkinsville, MI, died Monday, February 2, 2015. Betty married the love of her life, George E. Fary, who predeceased her in 1987. She moved to Locust Hill after WWII in 1946 and spent many years working with George as an owner of The Last Chance in Locust Hill. The remainder of her working life was spent as a prominent fixture at Tall Chief Market in Syringa where she developed many lasting friendships. Betty is survived by her children, Dennis E. Fary (Darlene), Cheryl F. Hunt, Kim F. Smith (Don), Georgie L. Fary (Stuart); 6 grandchildren, Nikki Lawson (Chris), Emily Driggers (Daniel), Wesley Hunley (Michelle), Lance Martin (Holly) Courtney Millen and Jaelene Fary; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Carl MacDonald; 2 sisters, Ella MacDonell and Sue Maloney. She is also survived by her very special friend, Peggy Charnick. Funeral services will be held 11a.m. Friday, February 6th in Harmony Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda.
