Betty Henry

Betty Jane Henry, 92, of Newport News, VA, went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2017, at the home of her daughter. Born in North Apollo, PA on October 2, 1924, she was the daughter of Clyde and Esther McDevitt. She was a graduate of Apollo High School and Duff's Business School in Pittsburgh. She worked as a secretary several places including the steel mill, Pittsburgh Theological Seminaey and Trinity United Presbyterian Church. Betty was a member of the Forst Baptisit Church of Apollo.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, John of 64 years, and her sister, Gladys. She is survived by her daughter, Patty (David) Patton, her brother, Bill McDevitt, her grandchildren, Benjamin Patton and Sarah (Chris) Anderson, several nieces and nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Apollo United Presbyterian Church at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 14, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am and luncheon, both at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Apollo United Presbyterian Church.
