Betty Respress

Betty Lane Respress, 84, died suddenly, Monday, February 26, 2018 at her home in Gloucester, VA. She was born July 15, 1933 in Mathews, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis (Dick) and Thelma Lee Armistead Respress; her Betty Lane Respress, 84, died suddenly, Monday, February 26, 2018 at her home husband Ellsworth German; her sons, Dale LeMere, Michael Keith Crewe and sister, Lorraine Hudgins. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Joy Ervin Florida; grandchildren, Stacey LeMere, Lindsey Petersen (Chris), Alisha Peel (Jason), Christian Ervin and Dakota Ervin; great-grandchildren, Spencer Peel, Tad Imoto and Sophia LeMere. She is also survived by her brother, C.E. Raye Respress (Gloria). Betty was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church for several years. She always looked forward to church services, especially her Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. Her life revolved around her family and many friends and she was one that never met a stranger. Her laugh was contagious. She loved flowers and possessed a "green thumb". She also enjoyed baking pies and delivering them to friends and "shut-ins". A Memorial Service will be conducted on March 2, 2018 at 2 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church, Foster, VA by Reverend Michael Gregory. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service. Interment will be private.
