Carl Reynolds ("Renny") Randolph, age 90, of Deltaville, Virginia, died December 22, 2022. His youth was spent as a gym rat in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he later attended college at UNC, graduating with a BS in Chemistry. He followed in the footsteps of his father and brother as a member of the ATO Fraternity, where he forged life-long friendships. Renny was captain of the varsity soccer team at Carolina, and loved all things Carolina Blue. He was a member of the Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church in Chapel Hill.
Renny's career was diverse, and spanned many years. From pharmaceutical sales, to kitchen remodeling, historic restoration, and home-building, he combined work with an active list of hobbies. He particularly enjoyed sailing with friends and traveling the country. He was known for his quick wit and a propensity for mischief, as many will attest.
Renny loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kay Bunting Randolph of Greensboro, North Carolina; a son, Randy Randolph and daughter-in-law Cara Randolph of Deltaville, Virginia, and grand-daughter Libbie Randolph; a daughter Ginnie Parrish and son-in-law Charlie Parrish of Cary, North Carolina, grand-daughter Cami Rodrigo of Reston, Virginia, and grand-son Clay Parrish of Charleston, South Carolina; and daughter Rebecca Randolph and son-in-law Andrew Scarborough of Richmond, Virginia. He is predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Gayle Ruffin Randolph of Old Church, Virginia. There was a family interment on December 30 at Immanuel Episcopal Church in Old Church, where Gayle rests as well.
