Cary Payne

Cary Clay Payne, 78, of Urbanna, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from complications of pneumonia. He was born February 16, 1938 to the late Avary and Dora Payne of Urbanna. He was preceded in death by his brother Melvin Payne in 1986 and his sister Beatrice Taylor in 2014. He is survived by his son Chad C. Payne and his wife McKann; grandson, Colin Payne; sister, Catherine Via; brothers, Ed Payne and his wife Barbara and Jones Payne and his wife Shirley. He worked for Thrift Oil Company for over 30 years and was a member of Urbanna United Methodist Church. Cary loved spending time with Colin and enjoyed taking him to Payne’s Crab House to visit with Catherine and Bea. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 15th, in Urbanna United Methodist Church followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.
