Catherine Moon Brizendine

Catherine Moon Brizendine, of Howerton, VA., passed away on October 10, 2024 with her family by her side. Mrs. Brizendine was preceded in death by her parents, George William Moon, Sr., and Cora Delray Anthony Moon; brother, George William Moon, Jr., and grandson, Lucas Aaron Brizendine.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Franklin Shearwood Brizendine, Sr; son, Franklin (Nick) Shearwood Brizendine Jr. (Sue Ball); two grandsons, Franklin (Tripp) Shearwood Brizendine III (Courtney) and Joseph Levi Brizendine; and one great-grandson, Bryant Lucas Brizendine.

Mrs. Brizendine worked many years at Colonial Farm Credit in Tappahannock and PMA Group in Glen Allen. Cathy had been retired and loving life for more than 20 years.

She was a proud member of Howerton Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union. Her hobbies were planting almost anything, softball, bowling, and golf. Cathy bowled and played softball for the church teams for many years.

She was a tireless and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her happiness always involved being with and taking care of family.

There will be a celebration of life service at Howerton Baptist Church on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with the family receiving guests an hour before the service at the church.
