Charles Douglas

Mr. Charles Harrison Douglas Sr. died Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Mr. Douglas was born November 22, 1950, the son of the late Charles Nevett Douglas and Elizabeth Sasser Douglas. During his working career, he was a cable locator for numerous utility companies. Charles was a lifetime member of the Essex/ Tappahannock Fire Department and a volunteer with Cople District Fire Department. Mr. Douglas enjoyed four wheeling and racing in his younger years, taking care of his fish and large aquariums, and loved photography and capturing the lives of others. Charles was a loving husband and father and will be missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Douglas of 50 years and his son, Charles “Chuck” Harrison Douglas Jr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Douglas.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church, Tappahannock with Pastor John C. Yeatts officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that contributions be made to The American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
