Charles Gibbons "Gibbie" Mangum Jr.

Our beloved husband and father, Charles G. Mangum, Jr. “Gibbie” passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2024 at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mavis; his brother, Julian (Peggy); and his children, Chuck (Amy), Pam Lemon (Lew) and Mark Wilburn (Kyp); along with his six grandchildren, Caitlin, Jilly, Mitch, Ally, Tiffany and Brittany and two great grandchildren, Rowdy and Logan. 

Born August 11, 1935, Gibbie was raised in Richmond, VA and attended John Marshall High School, where he excelled in baseball. He enjoyed a career in information technology, while also serving in the Virginia National Guard. After several moves throughout his career, Gibby retired to Middlesex County, quickly embracing the peaceful simple life of the country and filling his days with his love of golf, his dogs, and hunting, along with involvement with several social organizations. A celebration of life services will be held on Saturday January 13, 2024 at 11:00 at The All Saints Anglican Church in Saluda, Va.  In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Church or Hands Across Middlesex Food bank.
