Charles Martin

Charles Ralph Martin Jr., 73, from Urbanna, Virginia passed away early Saturday morning April 6th, 2019. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 1st, 1945 and married JoAnn Bristow on November 14th, 1964 in York, South Carolina. He was a jack of all trades most of his life, an avid fisherman, and he retired from Home Depot.

He is the son of Charles Ralph Martin Sr. and Johnnie Huffstetler, both deceased, and is survived by his devoted and loving wife, JoAnn Martin; daughter, Julie Martin; son, Raymond Martin; grandsons, Anthony, and Patrick Gartrelle; and granddaughter, Ashley Gartrelle.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 11th from 5-7 pm at Willie Chapel Baptist Church, 510 Merry Point Rd, Lancaster, VA 22503.

As one of his great friends said "Ralph had that quality about him that could set a difficult situation right again, and there are few as talented no matter where you look...Ralph: Fierce, loyal, opinionated, patriotic, funny, warm and kind. We and the world will miss him..." He was a great man to all, loved by all, and will be missed by all.
