Charles Ruark

Charles A. (Duckie) Ruark was reunited with his loving wife, Frances S. Ruark on March 13, 2017. Duckie was a retired Captain with VMRC and a waterman in his retirement. He is survived by children, Cheryl R. Thompson and Thomas (Tom) Ruark (Valerie). Grandchildren Matthew, Candace and Travis Thompson, and Tyler (Danielle) Dorsey. Duckie was survived by several special nieces and nephews who loved to spend time with him and hear stories of his life on the water. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home, Saluda. Funeral services will be held at Philippi Christian Church on Thursday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow in church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 440, Deltaville, VA 23043 or Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad, PO Box 98, Deltaville, VA 23043. Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda, is assisting the Ruark family with arrangements.
