Charlotte Duke

At the young age of 89, Ma danced into heaven New Years 2018 into the arms of her sweetheart, Walter James Duke, Jr. (Sparkie). Charlotte Eloise Jessup Duke, known in the community as “Ma” was born April 27, 1928 in Winston Salem, NC. She is survived by six children: Joanne Evans (Tommy), Jay Duke (Darlanna), Jennifer Davis (Gary), Jackie Taylor and a special son in law Michael Taylor, Jerry Duke (Jeannie) and Johnny Duke (Jennifer). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one due in April. His Lord said unto him, well done, good and faithful servant. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Saluda Baptist Church in Saluda. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday with interment to follow at Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Topping.
