Crawford Franklin Walton 87 of Saluda, Va., passed away peacefully on February 16 2017. He is survived by his sisters, Kathleen Whitman and Lillian Pierce, both of Saluda; his son, Michael Walton, of Gloucester Point; grandson, Colin Walton, of Saluda; granddaughter, Catelyn Walton, of Matthews; and a treasured great-granddaughter Daisy Walton. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Willie Mae Walton and his sister Jane Timberlake. Crawford was a 21 year veteran of the United States Air Force as well as a 20 year teacher at Richmond VoTech. He had a lifelong passion for gardening, hunting, and fishing. Daybreak would often catch him in the woods listening for game or walking his garden with a cup of coffee. He touched many with his kindness and he will be dearly missed by all. A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in Sunny Slope Cemetery, West Point. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday, February 20, 2017 at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home, Saluda.
