Dallas R. Thomas, 76, died peacefully at home March 26, 2015. He was the son of Avery L. and Eula Seward Thomas and lived his entire life in Hartfield. He was predeceased by two brothers: A. Larkin and Wilton Thomas and is survived by one sister, Grace (Richard) Parker. Throughout his career he worked in the food business, first as a delivery driver and salesman for Norton Food Co. and later as co-owner and vice-president of Five Rivers Food Company. In retirement he started his own lawn service business. He was an active member of Lower United Methodist Church, participating in the choir and men’s choir. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Gloucester and Warrick. He was a charter member of the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Dept. He loved dancing and studied ball room dancing for years. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Selma Jordan Thomas and sons: Rev. Jim Thomas (Amy) and Ray Thomas (Hee Lee) and four grandchildren: Clay, Drew, Porter and Taryn. Funeral Services will be held 3PM Sunday, March 29, 2015 in Lower United Methodist Church, Hartfield. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda.
