David Adams

David William Adams, age 75, went to be with his Lord & Savior on October 4, 2018. Born in Maryland, Dave spent most of his young life growing up in Newport News, VA where there is a strong family history in the Hilton Village area. Dave was drafted in 1965 to serve for the United States Army during the Vietnam War and served for 2 years. Later he moved to Poquoson, VA with his wife to raise a family, then retiring to Mobjack Bay in Mathews, VA. Dave was a long time employee of Pentran; which later became what we know today as Hampton Roads Transit.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Adams and Clayton (Fields) Adams of Newport News. He is survived by his brother, Carey Adams & wife Carolyn of Williamsburg, VA; his loving wife of 48 years, Debbie (Smith) Adams; daughter & son-in-law Charlene & Jeff Porter of Yorktown, VA; daughter Darlene McDonald of Middlesex, VA; daughter & son-in-law Diane & Larry Cheeseman of Chesapeake, VA; seven grandchildren: Justin Porter, Savanna Porter, David Adams, Ryan McDonald, Emma McDonald, Dominique Adkins, Ashlee Cheeseman; and great grandson Lucas Adams.

The family would personally like to thank Pastor Worley Hendricks of Faith Baptist Church in Mathews, VA; Nurse Practitioner Donna Greenfield and the numerous doctors, nurses and care-givers that sacrificed their time, talents and prayers. Dave's immediate family will have a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers; the family requests donations to the Muscular Dystropy Association at https://www.mda.org.
