David C. Crockett Sr., 84, died Monday, January 9, 2017 at his home. After 42 years, he retired as a senior electrical designer with Newport News Shipyard. He lived on Gwynn's Island after his retirement. Mr. Crockett was preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years, Shirley Callis Crockett. He is survived by his wife, Faye Adams Crockett, his three children, son, David C. Crockett, Jr. (Candice), daughters, Sabrina C. Arrington (Joel), and Deborah C. Rogers (Herbie); three grandchildren, Emily Claire Crockett, Caitlyn Rogers, and Jesse Anne Rogers; two step-grandchildren, Jimmy Adams and Jill Barrineau (Tres); and three step-grandchildren, Justin Adams, Brittany Worrell, and Rachel Edwards; and brother, Morris Crockett (Barbara), and sisters-in-law, Ruth Crockett and Kitty Crockett.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 11 at the Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, 160 Main St., Mathews, VA with a Masonic memorial service at 7:00 p.m. A private burial will be at the Gwynn's Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital - Greenville, 950 West Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605. Other donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
