David Wayne Taylor, 56, of Hartfield, passed away on May 11, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Etta Brownley Taylor, his daughter, the joy of his life, Lillian Mae Taylor, his parents, Floyd and Hilda Taylor, brother Michael Taylor, sister Wanda Lewter (Richard), niece Brittany Glenn (William), nephew Justin Taylor, niece Chelsea Hunt (Allen), niece Shelby Lewter, great nephew William Earl Glenn and great niece Skylar Hunt.
David was an honor graduate of Middlesex High School and an honor graduate of James Madison University. Everyone who knew him knew he loved the JMU Dukes! David was the owner of David’s Last Chance Restaurant in Locust Hill for many years. He then began a career with Heritage Crystal Clean and Coca Cola Beverage Company.
David was a devoted lifelong member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Topping, Virginia where he currently served on the Board of Deacons and numerous other committees. He was also an advisory board member for the Middlesex County Museum. He loved history especially Middlesex County history. David loved and enjoyed music and was a founding member of the Chesapeake Chorale.
One of David’s greatest passions was helping those less fortunate, and he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He lived his life celebrating God’s Grace.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 2 pm at Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Topping, Virginia. The family will receive friends starting at 1 pm. A reception will follow at the home of James and Callie Revere at 13412 General Puller Highway in Hartfield, Virginia.
