David Milne Wirth, born April 12th 1944 and died February 17th 2019 at the age of 74.
Son of LeRoy Wirth and Jeanette Wirth, David was born in Mount Vernon NY and raised in Pelham NY along with his twin sister Linda Karon and older sister Janet LoStrocco. He married Nancy Graham Wirth on March 27th 1971 and has two children Matthew Wirth (Melissa) and Sarah Wirth Wexler (Peter) and three grandchildren Maxx Lanphear, Jack Wexler, Ava Wexler.
David grew up summering on Montauk, Long Island. He enjoyed many a weekend on his 1962 wooden Thompson boat cruising out to Gull Island and beaching it with his family and friends. He was a lover of all things nautical and was very proud to call his son a Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer.
David was an accomplished Eagle Scout and an experienced auto mechanic. He graduated from NYU with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1966 and began his career working for Nordans Technology designing submarines. He transitioned to designing and building printing presses and ended his career working for Dauphin Graphics in Harrisburg, PA.
His other love was soccer. He attended more games for his children and grandchildren then humanly possible. His favorite team was Manchester United and every Saturday and Sunday morning you could find him watching an English Premier League game or three on the television.
He was loved by many, especially his family and will be missed more than words can say. His services were held on Saturday, February 23rd at The Catholic Church of the Visitation in Topping, Virginia.
