Debbie Coghill

December 31, 1969 — February 16, 2021

Coghill, Deborah (Debbie) Martin, 64, of Caret, Virginia passed away at her home surrounded by friends and family on February 16th, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Debbie spent her whole life in the community with friends who stayed by her side from grade school. Her career was spent in banking where she developed many long-lasting memories and friendships there. She was a lifelong member of Upper Essex Baptist Church. Debbie cherished her grandchildren and family, enjoying every minute she could find to spend with them.

She was preceded in death by her father James A. Martin and brother Dennis Martin. She is survived by her husband Duane S. Coghill, mother Bessie Gallagher, daughter Jessica Revels and her husband Craig, and son Scott Coghill.

Due to the Covid pandemic, a private service will be held in Upper Essex Baptist church at 2 pm on Sunday, February 21, 2021, but available to all on FM radio 88.7 in the church parking lot. An open graveside service in the cemetery will follow for anyone who feels comfortable to attend. Please be advised that current state-mandated guidelines will apply to all in attendance, including social distancing and appropriate face coverings.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Hospice, 289 Hospital Road, Tappahannock, VA 22560, Upper Essex Baptist Church Operating Fund, PO Box 225, Caret, VA 22436, or any charity of your choice. Arrangements by Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock.

Private funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2021 in Upper Essex Baptist Church, Caret. Those wishing to take part will be able to tune in from their automobiles in the parking area of the church to 88.7 FM.

A graveside service will follow in the church cemetery for anyone wishing to attend, please be advised that current state-mandated guidelines will apply to all in attendance, including social distancing and appropriate face coverings.
