Dietrich Romey

Dietrich Otto Romey, 75, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 3, 2016. Born in Welver, Germany and was a resident of West Point, VA, and retired to Gwynn's Island, VA. Dietrich enjoyed woodworking, tennis and spending time on the water. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Erika Romey; daughter, Michelle Reardon (Patrick); son, Martin Romey; daughter, Susan Bass (Jeffery); his five grandchildren, Samantha and Rebecca Reardon and Petra, Caitlin, Tessa Bass and great-grandson, Ezra Reardon. There will be a private Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in Dietrich's memory to the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad and the Riverside-Walter Reed Hospice. Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
