Don Geeson

Don Lane Geeson of Deltaville, VA died on February 4, 2018. He was born on May 10, 1924 in Columbia, MO, the son of Arthur Bertram Geeson and Esther Grace Lane. He is predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Eileen Ritter Geeson, his brother, Gene Ray Geeson and his eldest granddaughter, Lindsey Paul Rudolph. Surviving are his wife, Sarah Nalle Geeson, his children, Susan Paul and her husband, Bob, David Geeson and his wife, Trish, and Jan FitzHugh and her husband, Coby. Also surviving are his step-children, Pamela Hipp and her husband, Doug, Susan Swan and her husband, Dave, and Tom Nalle and his wife, Laurie. Surviving as well are 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mr. Geeson was a graduate of Ritenour High School in St. Louis, MO and Harvard University. While at Harvard, he joined the Naval ROTC and was commissioned after graduation as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy. He later returned to Cambridge and graduated with an MBA from Harvard Business School. Mr. Geeson was employed as an industrial engineer at Reynolds Metals Company until his retirement in 1985. He moved with his wife, Sarah, to Deltaville, VA and spent his long retirement enjoying sailing, woodworking and a wonderful life on the Chesapeake Bay. He was an active participant in community projects and as a member of Christ Church Parish (Episcopal), where he served on the vestry and sang for 31 years in the choir. Memorial services will be held at Christ Church Parish, 26 Christ Church Lane, Saluda, VA at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 11, 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ Church Parish (Episcopal), P.O. Box 476, Saluda, VA 23149, or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda.
