Donald Dwight Daniel, 56, of Remlik, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013 after a long battle with lymphoma. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 37 years,Gina, son Emory Scott Daniel; a sister, Dolores Newman and her husband Chris. Eight nieces and nephews, five great nieces and nephews and a large extended family of friends and hunting buddies. Dwight was a hard worker providing well for his family. He was assistant chief of Water View fire department where he spent many hours. He loved hunting, the beach, cutting grass and he truly loved his dogs, Sam, Katie Scarlett and Adda Girl.
Dwight was a man of his word and was known for speaking his mind and having a quick wit. He was a talented mechanic and loved to get into the nuts and bolts and fine details of making things work. If it was broken, Dwight could fix it. He was employed with Haynesville Correctional Center in the maintenance department and was a certified master locksmith. Dwight fought a difficult journey in the last two years but found peace within knowing he was in God’s hands which brought much comfort to him. Memorials may be made to the Upper Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department, 4583 Water View Road, Water View, VA 23180 or the Central Middlesex Volunteer Rescue Squad, PO Box 790, Urbanna, VA 23175. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Sunday at Hermitage Baptist Church, Church View where funeral services will be held 11:00am Monday with interment in the church cemetery.
