Donald Windfield "Donnie" Forrest, 71, of Bavon, VA died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Riverside Mathews Convalescent Center. Donnie was born on Aug. 9, 1945 in Mathews. He was a hard worker and very loyal to his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ellen Haywood Forrest; parents, James Windfield and Thelma Forrest; his brother James Carroll Forrest and his sister Norice Elizabeth Forrest.
Donnie is survived by his daughter Christy Duff and her husband Chris; sisters Barbara Smith and husband Carroll Melvin and Almara Slaughter; brother Buddy Gene Forrest and wife Carol; and grandchildren Brandon and David Michael Harrison.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 1:30 pm at New Point Friends Church, Susan, VA.
The family would like to express their thanks to the Riverside Walter Reed Hospice and to the caring staff of Riverside Mathews Convalescent Center.
