Dorothy Davenport

Dorothy Davenport, born Sept. 18, 1935, passed on to Heaven on July 4, 2017. She was married to Billy Joe Davenport, Sr. (deceased). She is survived by her sons David and Candie Davenport and Billy Joe, Jr. and Lynn Davenport; daughter Sheila Oakley; Grandkids Tori and Luke Oakley; Great-Grandkids Ella and William; sisters Eleanor Hodges (Alabama), Bo and Howard Chandler and Jeannie and David Whitmore and other relatives in VA, SC, AL and WVA, She is also survived by her best friend of many years Carolyn Goodwin of Cobbs Creek, VA.

Dorothy received God in her life at an early age. Rest in peace our Mother, Grandmother and Sister. Gone but will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held on July 10, 2017 at 12:00 followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 pm at Gwynn's Island Church of the Nazarene, Hudgins, VA with burial to follow at the Windsor Gardens Mausoleum, Dutton, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gwynn's Island Church of the Nazarene. Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, VA is assisting the family with arrangements.
