Edward Arrington

December 31, 1969 — April 5, 2016

Edward E. Arrington, 77, of Deltaville, VA, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.  Edward was born in Carroll County in 1938. After college, he married, moved to Frederick County, and taught instrumental music until he retired.  Edward also was a part-time farmer.  He loved music, farming, and horseback riding.  He played bluegrass music with the Glade Valley Travelers in Maryland then with the Honeywind Bluegrass Boys in Virginia until his death. Edward also was an active member of the coast guard auxiliary for many years.  He enjoyed boating with his family and friends. He was a devoted and loving husband and father. He will be most remembered for his kind and generous nature and great sense of humor. He always had a joke or story to share. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter Ellsworth and Mary Virginia Arrington; as well as his wife, Kay Arrington, and son, Scott Edward Arrington. Edward is survived by his daughter, Kim Osmond, (David) and grandchildren Andrew Osmond, Justin Osmond, and Cameron Osmond of Boonsboro, Maryland. Also a daughter-in-law, Tomara Arrington, and grandchildren Kade Arrington and Olivia Arrington of Frederick, Maryland and his sister, Mary Lee Diffendal of Finksburg, Maryland.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday, April 9th at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 13th in Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville, MD and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
