Edwin Elias “Eddy” Letchworth passed away peacefully at his home in Hardyville, VA. Friday, February 7, 2014. He was born March 24, 1942 in Snow Hill, NC. but grew up in Virginia Beach, where he started out as a carpenter. Later he moved to Richmond, where as a Contractor, he went on to build homes as well as several restaurants. He married Susie Zemo in 1985 and they moved to Hardyville, VA in 1989. Eddy was also an excellent self taught draftsman, designing most of the homes he was to build. He served for two terms on the Middlesex County Building Code Appeals Board. Although he had no children, Eddy was a loving ‘Father’ to many generations of Pomeranians. His favorite ‘Phoenix’, spent every evening on his lap in his recliner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Milton Letchworth, Sr. and Helen Coggins Letchworth; a sister, Marlene L. Waters, and two brothers, James Lloyd Letchworth and Gary Coggins Letchworth. He is survived by his wife, Susie Zemo Letchworth; three brothers, Robert Milton Letchworth, Jr., of Suffolk, Donald Letchworth of Virginia Beach, and Ronald Letchworth in Biglerville, PA, as well as fourteen nieces and nephews.
