Eli Joseph Hirschberg, 29, of Gloucester, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. He was born on December 1, 1990 in the northern state of New Hampshire and was a true southern man who remain a loyal New England Patriots fan. He was the most loving and amazing father his son Jaxson could ever have. He was a loyal, trustworthy, compassionate son, brother and friend.
He completed most of his education through Gloucester County, however he graduated and received his diploma from Mathews High School. As a teenager he worked as a waiter in his parent’s restaurants, Richardson’s Family Restaurant and Chef Todd’s. Later he went on to work for Curtis Contracting, Inc. for several years, advancing to the position of foreman.
Eli was an avid hunter, expert fisherman and a warrior spirit who loved the drama series Vikings, stories based on medieval times and he was always intrigued by dragons. Ever a mud bog and tractor pull fan he enjoyed listening to country music and lived life to the motto of “Live Free or Die”, the official motto of the state of New Hampshire.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Lillian K. Hirschberg, Martin H. Hirschberg and Antoine A. Guertin, Jr. He is survived by his son, Jaxson Thomas Hirschberg; his younger sister Hannah N. Hirschberg; his older brother Jefferey T. Hirschberg; sister-in-law Lauren McKenzie Hirschberg; nephews Brennan S. McKenzie and Jacob C. Hirschberg; older sister Nicole Hirschberg Barnes and her husband Zachery R. Barnes; his Mother Suzanne Guertin Hirschberg and father Todd J. Hirschberg; grandmother Louise F. Guertin; several aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the family.
A celebration of Life (Drive In/ Parking Lot Service) will be held on Saturday, May 16th at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Fellowship Church, Cobbs Creek, Virginia.
