Elizabeth Gamble

Elizabeth McCool Gamble, 95, of Middlesex, widow of Harold Lloyd Gamble passed away in her sleep on Thursday, March 22, 2018 following a brief illness. She was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired pharmacist. Betty was a member of Saluda Baptist Church, V.F.W., American Legion, W.M.U., WAVES International and the Alabama State Homemakers Association. Betty was predeceased by her sisters, Barbara Lee, Catherine South and a great grandson, Bradley Johnston. She is survived by her children, Susan Hockett (Glenn), Gayle Gamble and James Gamble, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Betty was fond of her family, scrabble, dominos, gardening, her blueberry bushes, chocolate and feeding the swans in the winter. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 24, 2018 in Saluda Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Saluda Baptist Church, P.O. Box 452, Saluda, VA 23149 or a charity of your choice.
