Elizabeth Phillips

Elizabeth P. Phillips, “Monie”, 93, of Cobbs Creek, Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 13, 2021. She was one of the oldest members of Mathews Chapel United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, Horace A. Phillips and her oldest grandson, Scott Downs.

Elizabeth is survived by her three daughters, Debi Downs (Leonard, Jr.), Donna Edwards (Bobby), and Theresa Ashberry (JJ); grandchildren, Jamie Hunley, Amy Hudgins (Andy), Wesley Ashberry and Phillip Ashberry (Jill); great-grandchildren, Hayden Downs, Tristan Downs, Braden Hunley, Blake Hunley, Jordan Hunley, Isabella Hudgins, Tyler Hudgins, Aidan Ashberry, Lilly Ashberry, her special dog "Sweet Pea" and a host of other loving family members.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in H. C. Smither Memorial Cemetery, Hudgins Virginia. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to The Virginia Home, 110 Hampton Street, Richmond, Virginia 23220, to Sheltering Arms Club Rec., 2805 W. Broad St., Richmond, Virginia 23230 or to the Mathews Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 1130, Mathews, Virginia 23109.
