URBANNA
Elliott Randolph “Randy” Redmon, 52, of Urbanna was born on December 4, 1961 in Richmond. He lived in Urbanna from childhood until his death from a car accident on November 29, 2014. He attended York Academy and graduated from Randolph Macon Academy in 1980. He was a skilled craftsman, carpenter, and marine contractor. He was passionate about sports especially golf and football. He won several local golf tournaments and was most proud of being the 2002 Mercedes Championships Washington Regional Winner. He was a volunteer coach for the Middlesex youth football and basketball leagues. Those who knew Randy knew his smile, his big bare feet, and his kind heart. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Elena “Katy” Redmon and his father, Elliott Edgar Redmon, Jr. He is survived by his two sons, Elliott Randolph Redmon II and Thomas Elliott Redmon. His boys were his greatest accomplishment and his love for them immeasurable. Other family members include his mother Betty Richardson, step-mother, Lucille Redmon, his sisters; Kathy Beale and her husband McKim, Sherri Kirwin and her husband Bob, Dr. Julie Redmon and her husband Rich Haugg and his brother Jason Elmer; step-sisters Carol Zimmerman and husband Larry, Bonnie Green and husband Pettis; and step-brother Martin Richardson. His nieces and nephews include Louis Palumbo, Courtney Beale, Marika Beale, Kaitlyn Kirwin, Kendall Kirwin, Eli Haugg and Lyla Haugg. Other special people in Randy’s life were his aunt and uncle Pat and Richard Marshall, dear friends Tammy and Melinda Putney, and his “second brother” Alan Sutherlin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, December 12, at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home, Saluda. Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, December 13 at Urbanna United Methodist Church.
