Emory Hart

Emory Garrison Hart, Jr., 70, of Remlik, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016. He was preceded in death by his mother Essie Major Belknap; stepfather Ralph Belknap, and his father, Emory Garrison Hart, Sr. He retired from Monumental Life Ins. Company after 37 years, served his country in the Army Reserves for 6 years, was a member of the Middlesex County Planning Commission and a longtime member of the Coffee Club at Marshalls Drug Store. Garrison loved the water, being outside and maintaining Bethel Memorial Cemetery. With his quick wit he loved instigating a good argument among friends. He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Shirley Hale Hart; daughter, Sharon Hart Winters and her husband Peter of Glen Allen and many cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held 2PM, Wednesday, April 6th, at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda. Interment Bethel Memorial Cemetery, Jamaica. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM, Tuesday (this evening) at the funeral home.
