Eugene Hudgins

Eugene Coles Hudgins, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Hospice House in Williamsburg, Virginia. He worked for the Newport News Shipbuilding from 1960 to 1989. Eugene played music with the Norman Phelps Music for 6 years on the radio daily and television once weekly. He also played with a local band the "Swinging Strings" for 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Nancy I. Hudgins; a daughter, Wendy H. Owens; a son, Eugene Coles Hudgins, Jr.; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Roland Hudgins (Janice); several nieces, nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 6- 8 PM at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Virginia. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 1:30 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery, Susan, VA.
