F. Ben Daniel, 85, passed away at home on Monday, January 15th, 2018. Born in Jamaica, Virginia, he was predeceased by his parents, Richard Braxton and Nannie Thrift Daniel; siblings, Mary Lou Fary, Corinne Daniel, Lewis and Douglas Daniel; half-siblings, Ethel Moon, Nancy Heincke, Jimmy, Herbert and George Daniel; and great grandson Austin Lambdin. He retired from Virginia Marine Resources Commission after 32 years of dedicated service as Law Enforcement Supervisor and Fishery Management. Ben was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Ben was a long time member of Salem United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men, and Memorial Association for 50 years. He enjoyed being a member of the Richmond Region Antique Car Club, Past Master Masonic Lodge Botetourt #7, and working in his beautiful garden. Ben will be remembered for his love for family and friends. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Fary Daniel; children, Donna Lambdin (Byron), Betty Willett (Dale), Kathy Sibley (Norman); grandchildren, Wayne Willett (Christina), BJ Lambdin (Megan), Daniel Lambdin, Christopher Sibley, and Kimberly Willett; great grandchildren, Isabella Willett, Delaney Lambdin, and Gabriella Willett; brother-in-law, Ed Fary (Ann) and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Friday, January 19, 2018 at Salem United Methodist Church, Gloucester. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The family thanks his faithful caregivers and Riverside Walter Reed Hospice Program for all their care and support.
