Fern Ilene Dundon, 84, of Locust Hill, Virginia, died Tuesday, June 12th, 2012 after a short illness. She was a very active and loving member of The Church of The Visitation. She is survived by her husband Thomas Dundon; son, Kevin Brown; daughter, Karen Davis; her beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Patrick and Meghan Davis, to whom she was known as Ga; her brother, Bruce Nordlund and her dog Duffy. She was born in Southern California but spent her retirement years in Urbanna and Locust Hill, Virginia. The word retirement wasn’t really in Fern’s vocabulary though. She worked at the Urbanna Library, The Church of The Visitation and with vast amounts of volunteer groups. Her nick name was Saint Fern for a reason. Fern’s smile lit up every room and every person that had the immense joy of knowing her. Her compassion was contagious and will never be forgotten. There will be a Mass and reception held on Saturday, June 16th at 10:00 AM, at The Church of The Visitation in Topping, Virginia. Please join us to celebrate the wonderful life of Fern Dundon. Arrangements by Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda, VA.
