Frank W. Gilbert
Frank W. Gilbert, 77, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013. Mr. Gilbert was a former employee of A. H. Robins. While living in Richmond he was active in various civic associations, serving on the Richmond Welfare Board and the board of the American Heart Association. He served as president of the Richmond Chapter, American Marketing Association, and the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and was Chairman of the Richmond Commission on the Elderly. Mr.Gilbert was particularly proud of being an organizer and 1st. president of the Carillon Civic Association. Frank lived in Mathews for 34 years and was very active at Kingston Parish Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry and was treasurer for 6 years.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cynthia (Kippy) Churchill Gilbert; a son, Scott Gilbert; two daughters, Laura Carr and her husband Dabney and Angie Miller ; and five grandchildren, Quint, Peter, and Sarah Carr, Nicholas Stump and Alex Miller.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Kingston Parish followed by a celebration of Frank's life held at the parish house. Interment will follow the service in Christ Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributuions may be made in Frank's memory to Kingston Parish, P.O.
