Gail Haughton O'Neal

Gail Haughton O’Neal, of Warner, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Born April 7, 1945, in Newport News, Gail was a proud Virginian and resident of Middlesex County.

A graduate of Homer L. Ferguson high school, Gail attended Mary Washington College and was a longtime bookkeeper. A devoted member and treasurer of Glebe Landing Baptist Church, she enjoyed singing in the choir, attending Sunday school, and serving the community.

She was an avid reader with a passion for genealogy and history. She will be remembered for her devotion to Jesus, bright smile and love of family, gardening and pets.

Gail was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Little Willie “Pete” O’Neal and her devoted parents, Phyllis and Caxton Haughton. She is survived by her sister, Sally White (Rolfe) and her brother Caxton “Bubba” Haughton, Jr. (Sylvia).

Gail is also survived by her loving children: Kenneth “Paul” Cunningham, Jr. (Roni), Elizabeth Kennedy (Terry), her stepdaughters Chrissy McCamy, Kimberly Brown (Randy), and Laurie O’Neal, as well as seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Glebe Landing Baptist Church on Thursday, April 10 from 11:00-12:00 with service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glebe Landing Baptist Church, 1439 Glebe Landing Road, Laneview, VA 22504.
