Gary Bryant Reedy

Gary Bryant Reedy, 72, of Tappahannock, VA., passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025. Born on July 24, 1951, in Ashe County, North Carolina, Gary graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1971, attended Virginia Western Community College and graduated from Roanoke College prior to moving to Richmond, VA. He then pursued a career as estimator and purchasing manager in the steel fabrication industry. Gary was an avid athlete and enjoyed playing tennis, jogging, and long distance cycling. He was always very proud of having completed five Richmond marathons. 

In July, 2000 he married Gwen and they moved to Stafford, Virginia, and together they enjoyed renovating homes, visiting wineries, shopping for antiques, and weight lifting for eighteen years prior to retiring to Tappahannock. 

Gary is preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Weaver Reedy and his father Bryant Victor Reedy. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Gwendolyn Tator Reedy, stepson Andrew Lee Mays and his wife Kristen and their son Caleb Lee Mays, sister in law Christine E .Gentuso and her friend Steve, brother in law David P. Tator and his wife Adrienne as well as aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at Marks-Bristow on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. and a private burial will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Tappahannock, VA.
