Gazelle Ashberry

Gazelle (Williams) White Ashberry, 83, passed on to her heavenly home on May 10, expecting to meet those who have gone on before. She is survived by her husband, John Edward Ashberry, Sr. and her four children, Gerald White and Patty; Neal White and Nancy; Joy White Rogers and David; and Leanne White Bennett and Robert. She is also survived by five siblings, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Born and raised on Gwynn's Island, she married Warren White in 1949 and they moved to Mobjack, where they lived for almost fifty years and raised their four children.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Foster- Faulkner Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 1p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Foster, with internment immediately following at Providence Cemetery. In lieu of flower arrangements, she requested that each of her friends place a single long-stemmed red rose on her casket. Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Virginia is in charge of the arrangements.
