George Harmon Croxton

October 11, 1954 — October 31, 2024

We bid farewell to George Harmon Croxton, a brother, a true ‘beacon of light ‘in our family, who departed from this world on Thursday, October 31, 2024, just twenty days after his 70th birthday, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. George walked through this life with a gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone he encountered with an unforgettable grace.

Preceded by his parents William A. Sr (Bill) and Louise ; grandparents, James and Lillie Croxton, and his beloved Martha George (“Nana”) and Survived by :

Survived by his brother, William A. Jr /Bill (Carole); nephews William A. III, Will (Gina); Scott(Melissa); Ryan(Becca); great nieces and nephews: Tanner (Maddy), Karli, Gilly (Wm A.IV), Charli, Milla, Lucy, Jack , great-great niece “Scottie” Croxton, and “Uncle Greg” Wilson; 

Brother, Jim (Sarah); nieces and nephews Tracy Jenkins (Andy); Travis Croxton, (Kristi); Tara Bennett (Phil); Sean Hamilton; great nieces and nephews Riley, Dylan, Alden Croxton, Eve and Hayden Jenkins, Lauren and Henry Bennett, Elizabeth and Victoria Hamilton.

A kind and gentle person – Loved by his community and very passionate of the things he cherished most – His Church (TMUMC) Essex High School sports, Essex County Little League, Washington ‘Redskins’ football, University of Richmond sports, the businesses that he used to ‘check in with on a daily basis ‘ and the Caregivers Carolyn “Skinny” Williams (30 years), Mike Dunn, Janette “Nettie” Pruitt, and Ashley Rowsey that took such exceptional care of him.

Family and friends may pay their respects at Tappahannock Memorial United Methodist Church, 345 Earl Street, Tappahannock, Va. on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at a 2:00pm visitation followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3:00pm. A future private family interment will occur. Faulkner Funeral Home, Marks-Bristow Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
